Hospital Classes

Being our first baby and all, I thought it would be helpful to take every class available at Sibley Memorial Hospital. Turns out the chairs are uncomfortable and the classes aren't all that necessary. Josh only came to 2 out of the 3 (you can guess what the subject was of the class he was excused from).

The first class we did was a "Baby Skills" class where they teach you how to change a diaper and swaddle a baby. As you can see, Josh's baby skills were very good...even if his baby looks nothing like him!
Swaddling his baby.

The second class (pics below) was a "Labor and Delivery" ALL DAY (9 hours) class.
Josh using the "birthing ball" for his back - there were only 4 in the class and over 20 pregnant women...not sure why the instructor didn't take it away from Josh!
Towards the end of our 9 hours, we moved to the back of the class. This turned out to be the best thing - we both ended up using the "birthing balls" as chairs because they were so much more comfortable.

What's Kicking?

I had to video tape this - it is so cool. Baby Deckard seems to really want to come out! I guess it goes without saying that sleeping has been a bit more difficult these days. You can see why from this video. Can't wait to meet the little kicker!

Updated Nursery Pics...still no furniture though!

Furniture should be coming in within the next week or two. I can't wait!! I have little piles of things that I am getting anxious to put away. Would blame it on "nesting", but I think this is just organizing excitement. Below are some pictures of the making of the nursery. As soon as furniture comes in I will definitely post some more!

What a good Papa! Busy painting Baby D's room.

Bit of indecision on the paint color!! Tried 10 samples before I decided on one.

The final color!

Phil's Mullet!

I don't think I ever posted pictures from this memorable night. But this is definitely a "better late than never" type of thing. After care group one night, Josh got a great idea to shave a mullet in Phil's hair. For $100 Phil agreed to let him do it. The deal was that he couldn't get it fixed until Sunday night (CG was on a Friday). What a sport! Poor Jess had to go around town with her husband for an entire weekend like this.

The masterpiece!
