We (okay, this was actually my idea) put Baby D's ultrasound picture on the dashboard for the drive to Kentucky so we could stare at it for 8 hours (which I did)!

Making Room for Baby D!
So, this began my constant need to organize (I'm sure my mom never thought this day would come)! If any of you know my mom, you know how she loves to organize. I am finally understanding this compulsion! I can't be in a room without going through things and leaving a little space for Baby D. I would hate for Baby D to get here in December and think "they just don't have room for me".
It makes me laugh though, because for the next 4.5 months we are going to have a prime spot (bottom cupboard shelf - and for those shorties out there like me, you know this is prime real estate) in our kitchen completely empty from my shenanigans (except for a bottle I got as a gift from Buy Buy Baby)! I don't know why I thought it had to be done right now, but it is fun to look at and think of how quickly that shelf will fill up and how different life will be with the necessary items on it.

Baby Deckard makes a third appearance (19 weeks and 3 days old)
Here is the clip from our third ultrasound! Baby D is healthy (praise God) and excited to meet everyone. We made it through the 20 week ultrasound without finding out Baby D's gender. Hopefully it will remain a secret (from us at least)...so if you happen to get a glimpse of anything in the ultrasound, mums the word! We still want to be surprised in December!
It was so fun to see Baby D again and so grateful everything looked good. I went to the emergency room last week while we were in Dallas because of some severe abdominal pain, so seeing the baby was such a relief. We celebrated on our way home by stopping at Ice Berry in Georgetown to get some chocolate frozen yogurt with gummy bears and fruity pebbles on top (one of Baby D's favorites...or maybe just Mom's)!

Nursery Planning!!
So, I have never really decorated a room from scratch which is why I am taking this job so seriously. It has been so fun finding the furniture, picking out the bedding, and all that goes into decorating a nursery. I am so grateful I have the opportunity to do this now. Below are some pictures of the nursery in the making. I will be sure to post a final picture when it all is in place with Baby D to complete the look!
The Lampshade (that the nursery is planned around)!
The Crib (with different bedding - this is just from the internet)
The Bedding (top is bumper, middle is sheet and bottom is dust ruffle) - many thanks to Dana at Daisy Baby in Bethesda for helping me put this together...she is so talented! There are thousands and thousands of fabrics to choose from and she found the perfect combination to go with the lampshade.
The Dresser (picture is from the internet, I am not that clean and orderly)

Date Night with My Hubby!
After a long day of design and planning for Baby D's nursery (which Josh patiently sat with me at Daisy Baby for), we went on a date to the Georgetown waterfront. We never go there because it tends to be more touristy and the food at restaurants there isn't so great, but we decided to give it a try.
No surprise, food wasn't that great...BUT, we decided to get a chocolate malt (one of Baby D's favorites) and walk along the water. We ended up just sitting on the boardwalk because it was too hard to walk AND share a malt. It was such a pretty night and was so much fun. We just sat there overlooking Rosslyn (where we live) and Roosevelt Island (where we go walking). It was the PERFECT date night!
